Welcome to 2nd year MBBS, Rawalpindi Medical University. This year is no different but you might find it easier, although lengthy, given the same subjects and good know-how of how to study by now. In the current modular system, this year consists of 6 modules and 3 blocks. The first module is related to Gastrointestinal system. It comprises all the Physiological, Anatomical, Embryological, Histological and Biochemical aspects of GIT as well as carbohydrate and lipoprotein metabolism. The second module is related to Physiology, Anatomy, and Biochemistry of the renal system along with protein and amino acid metabolism. This makes the first block.

For the third module, it comprises Reproductive physiology, the anatomy of pelvis and perineum as well as nucleic acid metabolism and some portion of genetics. The fourth module is all about Central Nervous System, covering the sensitive and motor physiology, neuroanatomy and lipid metabolism. These two make up the second block.

"If you don't sacrifice for what you want, what you want will become the sacrifice."

The fifth module is related to physiology, histology, embryology and anatomy of special senses along with some portion of the anatomy of the head and neck. The sixth and final module is related to physiology, histology and biochemistry of Endocrine system, second messengers, and remaining anatomy of head and neck. This makes up the third block. That's about it from a bird's-eye view. Have a great year. All the very best.
